IUI , ICSI , IVF Clinics in Bangalore for assisted reproduction

Bangalore (India) is becoming an emerging destination for assisted reproduction procedures. An IVF cycle can be carried out at almost 1/10th of the cost as compared to a typical hospital in US.

The prices are (as quoted to us), during the month of June 2014, and includes all charges.
The charges vary across different centers mainly depending on the pre and post operating procedures in a typical IVF/IUI cycle.

Some specialists operate across multiple hospitals/clinics, and even for the same IVF/IUI specialist, the cost can vary a lot. I have observed prices are almost 50 % lower in smaller clinics, but price should not be criteria for selection, the doctor and the facilities should stand first. My Pregnancy story , on why pregnancy is not just a successful IUI, IVF or ICSI, but much beyond that. It's a start of a long journey.

In Random Order (All Inclusive cost of procedures across Bangalore hospitals updated :)

13. CREATION (FORTIS HOSPITAL)
We came to know about CREATION, somewhat late, until few of the readers had specific queries about some of the doctors there.
FORTIS, in Bangalore, by way of their specialty infertility center called CREATION, have made a huge investment in promoting the same.
We tried to get details of their pricing model for IVF, IUI, and ICSI. There was a 200 % variance in the price of what FORTIS quoted for IUI and IVF as compared to the actual costs incurred (as discussed with few patients). Anyways, we know with FORTIS standards (and the kind of investment they have made in this infertility centre) this was always expected to be very high, with one patient reporting it to be upward of 15000 Rs per IUI cycle, exclusive of medicines and tests.
The price for IVF, including hospital stay will fall around 1.4 Lakhs Rs (exclusive of medicines and tests)

They do have a dedicated site for fertility. Looks impressive first time, having some general articles projecting the infertility scene, some high profile doctors, few interesting testimonials, and of course the Android App. Definitely high profile advertising to gain more market share in Bangalore.

The Bangalore Infertility Scene:
With the proliferation of so many new centers and major hospitals expanding their foray into this highly lucrative and profitable vertical, there has been no decrease in prices. They have constantly gone upwards by an average of 20-25% every year. There is no regulatory legislation to govern these clinics in India. The demand is ever increasing due to more and more young people getting married and finding it hard to go to next stage of family. Well one can always say that IT/ITES does not give you chance to lead a healthy lifestyle , but do not forget that it’s not just in Bangalore , but the trend is visible across India.
It is not a lifestyle disorder, but the decrease in fertility rates is a country wide phenomenon. We just happen to be in Bangalore where we are just a bit more expressive and vocal on internet, as compared to other towns. Add to it, the vicious IT tag, people are supposed to always pay a premium, whether it’s in hospital or school, travel agents or whatever.

The infertility centers (except in one case) do not advertise their rates. The reason might be that they do not want to lose the flexibility in deciding the clinical charges on demand. There is a race between the fertility clinics to get the most rated doctors in their hospitals.
Our readers don’t want fancy statistics from all those 5 star hospitals.
Our questions and expectations are fairly straight.

1.     How many successful and unsuccessful procedures you do? (Describing success in IUI, IVF or ICSI in terms of % is a very elusive.)
2.     What are the possible side effects one can have while undergoing these procedures?
3.     What are the assurances regarding the quality of donor eggs and donor sperms?
4.     How many pregnancies resulting in miscarriage?
5.     How many pregnancies resulting in premature babies?
6.     How many babies are born healthy?
7.     Did patients report any issues in healthy babies having any genetic issues like autistic tendencies or other retardation?

Regarding the point number 7, I would like to bring to notice an important research article published by Dr. Lorraine Kelley-Quon of Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, University of California, Los Angeles. Their reports do confirm some of the points mentioned above.
Their research confirms that the incidence of genetic defects of the heart, eye and urinary system are more in IVF deliveries than normal delivery.

  1. Manipal's MARS ( Manipal Andrology and Reproductive Services. ) recently did an upward revision of the prices for IVF treatment.
They have introduced a package which contains 3 cycles of IVF @ 2,25,000

Also the cost for ICSI and IVF is revised to 1.6 Lakhs

    ReplyDelete
  2. Doctor Beena Vasan who sits in Manipal ( MARS ) also has her own fertility clinic in RajajiNagar which runs by the name of Ankur Fertility.

The cost of IUI in Ankur Fertility , Bangalore comes to 3600 + tests ( 1500 approx )

You need to take 3 days prior appointment. to see Dr Beena Vasan

    ReplyDelete
  3. Manipal hospital , Bangalore has revised the cost of consultation from 300 Rs. to 400 Rs.
Also the cost of follicular scan is revised from 600 Rs. to 660 Rs.

Why is this fees important ?
Well every visit to the doctor will cost you Rs 400 for consultation ( 2 visits within 7 weeks )
Then FOLLICULAR SCANS ( 3 in a week ) , need to do 7-8 FOLLICULAR SCANS in a month for determining the egg size.
You can do 2 more scans in the same fee , if in the same week.

They they put you on progestron Tablet ( Gestofit 200 ) for 15 days . That costs 582 Rs as of today.
I did not include cost of HCG injections and Clomid tablets that will be required whether you go for Natural Cycle or IUI.
IUI comes with additional cost mentioned above.

    SO Overall
    1. Consultation = 400 Rs ( 2 Visits )
    2. Follicular scans = 660 Rs ( 3 visits )
    3. Clomid Tablets
    4. Progestrone Tablets = 582 Rs
    5. HCG Injections
    6. Treatment Cost ( in case of IUI @ 12000 Rs. )

  4. How many Visits will it require to get the IUI done? I heard we have to repeat the scan frequently.
Are there any infertility clinic in Bangalore that operate on weekends as well . I am an office going person and not possible to get a treatment in weekdays, especially if these hospital mostly open during work timings only.
What is the process ? How often is the scanning required in a cycle?

  5. Hi,
I am 28 year old having PCOD problem and unable to conceive. I have consulted Dr. Malathi Rao and she has recommended IUI for us.
The IUI cost there is around 10k . I am worried about the success rate of IUI there. Has every one else had IUI experience with Dr. Malathi Rao. How many cycles does one require for IUI.
She has also asked for HSG test to be done to check any blockages in tubes ! Is it standard practise to check tubes before any proedure like IUI or IVF.

  6. The IUI cost in bangalore varies from 4000 to 12000 rs across hospitals. I have given all costs above.
Also irrespective of what hospitals claim , the IUI sucess rates are standard @ 18-20 percent.
( assuming good sperm count , good eggs , good tubes )

Yes most tests like HSG , AMH for egg quality , sperm count are mandatory.
My doctor in Bangalore never jumped to IUI directly.
They first monitored the follicule and asked us to do timely relationships. They will give us exact date.

When this did not work for 4 months , they administered ovulation induction drug Clomid . This we tried for 4 cycles. and we had decided to go for IUI next. But I conceived in the last cycle.

We are trying to conceive for last 8 Months . They did all the scans HSG , Thyroid and my husband too has proper semen count. My docs have recommended us for IUI and told us to come every alternate day for follicular scans. But the problem is that , i can not leave office regularly for these scans. I am in a new job , and not comfortable in asking for so many offs.
Can this procedure be done on weekends ?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Not to discourage you , but i did not join my first job, since i could not find any fertility clinics in Bangalore , doing the IUI procedure in early morning / late evenings.

Also you can not leave the follicular scans for week-ends , since the docs need to track the growth of follicles and no of follicles .

As soon as the follicle size reaches 1.8 or more , the docs would like to start the IUI within 24 hours and repeat it again in next 24 hrs depending on follicle growth.

If you are going in for IUI / ICSI / IVF , I would focus only on the treatment , since all these comes at a cost , and the result being the most precious thing you will ever vouch for , so let's make the most of it. In this case a healthy , peaceful and a sustaining pregnancy .

    ReplyDelete
  9. I read a post on Ovulation Induction above. Is this procedure a pre-requisite for IUI ?
    What is the success rate?

    ReplyDelete
  10. OVULATION INDUCTION is not a pre-requisite but a last resort , before you jump to any assisted procedure like IUI , ICSI or IVF.

If all your reports and husband's count is good , you should stress your doctor for OVULATION INDUCTION process.

Since you are due for IUI anyways , and the same provides succes rates of 18-20 % , it's good to try for at least 4-5 cycles of ovulation induction, which has similar sucess rate ( if not more ).

But If you really do not have much time ( due to typical parental pressure in Indian families , peer expectations , other family issues ) , then take your call.

In ovulation induction , they will give you clomid tablet , put you on progestrone , let the follicle grow , and ask you to establish relationship exactly at a time , when the sperms can fertilize the egg with maximum probability. Then you wait till your next period is due.

If luck sails through , the doctor will detect that your endometrial lining is thick ( through early pelvic scan) , do a pregnancy test .

If that comes negative , the OI repeats for few more cycles , unless the docs can come to conclusion that OVULATION INDUCTION or otherwise , the pregnancy will take more time to establish , and recommending IUI.

I got pregnant in the first attempt while undertaking IUI treatment at Manipal Northside Hospital , Bangalore. The doctors who performed IUI were Nandini Devi and Dr Malathi Rao.
This was not the case with others who went for IUI that day. Along with me , there were 2 other patients that day for IUI . I do not recall any one other getting positive news after that round of procedure.

  12. Doctor Jyothi Menon is the other doctor apart from Dr. Beena Vasan in Manipal Hospital . She is an extra-ordinary doctor and a great human being.
There is not much rush for her appointments. I could get the same day appointments easily and infact her 3 PM - 4:30 PM timing was quite comfortable for me.
I have heard of patients with good feedback on IUI's under Dr . Jyothi.
We selected Dr Jyothi above Beena vasan , as the timings were comfortable for us . She always gave us good hearing , and my wife ended up conceiving , so couldn't have asked for anything better. Good Luck

  13. Went to Motherhood Hospital Bangalore ( located in Indiranagar ). Not very sure about the infertility treatment , but the ultrasound experience was nice.
Instant report as soon as the ultrasound was over.
Little waiting but that was due to some emergency case.
    Well never mind.
Ultrasound cost on higher side , 975 Rs. but instant report. and 5 star facilities for any one planning the delivery there.
At least it saved me from visiting the ultrasound center again for report collection.

Experience with Dr Rupa at sure fertility was great. Conceived in 2nd IVF. Good facilities

  15. The package option at Sure fertility seems quite good. 60,000 is the cost for 1 cycle of IVF , which is quite reasonable , add another 5000 cost for all scans , medicines
    Still fantastic

I m not so lucky. Went to ankur fertility last year jan, 3 IUI,s followed by 1 IVF. Still no luck ? Waiting for 2nd IVF result.
Most of the fertility clinics are just making money out of our misery.

  19. I came from abuja , Nigeria.
Tried one cycle of IVF at Manipal before trying for IVF at Ankur.
    Both the centres were good.
Moved to ankur fertility because cost was less and dcotor bina vasan was operating at both places.

1st IVF was success but ended in miscarriage at 9 weeks. 2nd IVF at ankur did not result in pregnancy but doctor beena vasan cared a lot and put her full effort.
I will come back to her once i return to india.

  20. Any reviews about the Cherish Reproductive Center in Koramangala?

I live in Koramangala and am currently consulting at Sure Fertility Clinic in JP Nagar. But going that far frequently is not easy. So wondering if anyone has had any experience with Cherish?

  21. Dr Bina seems to be a very busy dr. She didnt even have the time to go through my reports instead asked me to get all the tests done once again. Very disappointing. She doesnt have a sensistive dr touch at all. Seems to be money minded. Not going back to her at all.

  29. Hello people.. who ever searching for "good fertility clinic in Bangalore". Please do not read any review in NET and decide the doctor. In that case you will end up in finding None. Why becos all those reviews are based on the frustration out of failure. Most of the people write or want to tell to some one when mostly something BAD or NEGATIVE happen to them. Other wise we paid and docs did their job.. why should i tell this to anyone or share the good thing.. Straightly speaking... human talks more about negative rather than positive things happen to them...

Ok. coming to matter. I just selected 5 docs where i find more reviews (positive or negative). started visiting 3 clinics which are near to my house and easily accessible. once you visit the clinics and meet 3 doctors you can very well come to conclusion of the treatment u may need.. iui..or ivf ..or nothing. my sincere advice to everyone 1) select your clinic which is close to ur home 2) time to match ur working hours 3)prepare and keep the money in excess to the budget given by docs.

I see lot of people call and ask for appointment at some time and expect doctor to call them in exactly at scheduled time. Lot of people started fighting , looking at their watches restlessly, shouting at the reception nurses or even with doc. We are taking treatment for 4.5 years and visited every year 1 clinic. I behaved exactly the same way during my first year. Now a days i used to laugh at the people who are behaving like me!!. "Patience" is more important thing in this mission. if you get appointment at say 9.30 , be there before 9.30 and inform your office that you will be coming to office only at 12. Don't guesstimate like your office software project schedule.. it will never work out here in hospital / clinic.. Plan and dedicate the time for this. It will look like wasting your time initially.." but after some months of frustration, pain, cry and sleepless nights will surely mold you to remain calm and more patience "

And i see people started talking about money..."These people are pulling all our money " Doc will always say less amount..other wise you will not even come near them... so prepare more amount atleast 25% more..

So currently we did our first cycle of IVF at XXX(suspense).. and waiting for results.. will post you the whole thing.. may be my research thesis in this mission... (it will cover both chennai and bangalore)...

Yes I do agree that accessibility and having a IVF / IUI clinic nearby will be very helpful. .

Like I have been saying all throughout this blog , that getting pregnant is just a starting point . The whole pregnancy tested our patience like anything , and even with the baby ON , it still is.

GOOD LUCK for your journey , let the reader's know about your IVF journey in Bangalore and Chennai.

  35. Hello Mani,
    Welcome here !
Like I said above , it will be good to find a IVF fertility center nearby your residence.
When nearing Ovulation time , the scans need to be frequently done to ascertain optimal time for Egg Retrieval ( based on the Egg quality and size).
We need to go not just once but many times a week in those times.

Also the consultants might be busy sometimes , so instead of taking full day leave from office and keep waiting , you can re-schedule your appointments with more flexibility without effecting the work schedules.

Since you are just moving in to Bangalore , I suggest taking your residence in an area considering the above factors. ( Bangalore Traffic can be punishing at times. )

    -Thanks

    Hi Mission fertile,

This is a great blog and I want to thank you heartily. Also I would like to thank all the people who have shared their views. Its a serious discussion and every1 participated really well.
    Here is my story.
    1) Married in the year 2009 - am in early 30s and my DH is nearly 6 yrs younger to me.
    2) We both work in ITES and we have shifts.
    3) 2010 we went to Cherish in Koramangala and Dr Sreekumar started treating me.
    4) He was not very explanatory however we find him knowledgable and a good human.
    5) 2011 - Feb the D day.. I am a PCO..with HSG injections which starts from 2nd day of menses I was able to ovulate and my follicle developed to 20 mm.
    6) I 4got to mention my frustrated affair with Dr.Reeta whom I showed in 2010 when Dr Sree was in Out of Town. She was nice and kind however lack of knowledge.Due to her I wasted some time and she stalled my follicles.Sure Fertility is a NO NO to the patients now.
    7) 2012 am on brk but I went to Gift Gyno to show Dr Anitha and Roopa Sibi.Experience was OK.
    8) 2013 Feb we went to Creation in Fortis and screening was done by Dr.Laxmi who is just SUPERB...
    * she examined our reports and explained lot of things.
    * She did TVS and showed me that my endometris lining is fine.. no CYSTS or Fibroids. Also I had developed follicles which were 10-11 mm .Unfortunately as I have irregular cycles hence I didnt develop a leading follicle.
    * Also they did a TB byopsy test to check if I have genetal TB or not.
    * My HSG was done at Sure hence no issues with Tubes.

Well Lemme sum it up here...We have been in Creation,Fortis in Banerghatta and have experienced amazing support from Dr laxmi and have +ve mindset.I will meet Dr Manish Palep Singh in the next week and will go through blood test AMH test, rubella test etc while by DH goes through Semen analysis and blood tests.
Dr will advise us natural cycles.Frankly speaking we both can hardly make time for each other at those times. So we will give a try for 1 natural Cycle. Then we will move on to IUI which will cost 19,000 INR + drugs extra ( thats fine with us as long we get good treatment and humane touch )
IVF will cost 88,000 + drugs extra

I will keep you guys posted on how my story sails through... now for the time being.. I will look forward for more baby dust stories...
Cheers! God gives you all the greatest gift!

  58. Thx for your visit.
1.75 lakhs seems a bit too high, but again it depends on how many IVF cycles does cradle covers in this amount? and does it include all medication , tests and hospitalization as well ? Can you tell us which hospital she worked earlier , will probably try to fetch some info.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thx for the visit. Sorry , We are not having any tie ups or recommendations for sperm donation. You may please contact a nearby fertility clinic for the same, A tentative list is shared above for the reference.

What about Dr. Jyotsna R. Mirlay . She told IVF cost would be around 1.2 to 1.5 lakh along with medication

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yeah , the cost is OK, but most look for either a renowned fertility doctor , or well established IVF center, which in this case is obviously a question.
But on the other hand , expect a rush at some of the established IVF clinics / doctors, you might feel like you were not attended to properly. ( Although that's may not be the case always ).
Don't hesitate to have a second opinion handy .

are you sure the cost is 1.75???? as far as I know, dr.swarnalatha is a newbie and was a student of dr.madhuri patil a few years ago. I had seen her there when I'd undergone my 2nd IVF cycle (which was positive). I know couple of my colleagues who have visited her and havent heard good things.

as for me, I'm going for frozen embryo transfer for my second baby and I'm hoping it would be a positive journey.

After having gone through with the successful ivf at dr.patils, I would highly recommend her... cost factor I'd say she is a lot lesser as compared to the previous clinic I used to visit. My ivf worked out to 1.30.. and they do give a detailed list of the charges which I thought was helpful as that kept us informed in terms of the detailed cost of the ivf.

  109. Cherish Medical at Koramangala is a very good place for IVF. It is less crowded and Dr. Sreekumar is of amicable nature. He is the only doctor and and do the entire procedure by himself. Initially we had a wrong impression looking at the number of people coming for treatment, but soon we realized that the doctor had spent number of year in abroad and wants to maintain same lifestyle in India as well. done at nova. HSG was already done in previous year.

    Then there was
serious of consulting sessions, Dr Sumana Gurunath, at cloud9 MVM , very
patient, and suggested that she would try a different protocol with different
doze of mediations, 5 day frozen transfer, prescribed DHEAS for improving egg
quality, and she said she would use HGH. Cost
breakup is not given, they just mention it orally. Did not find them so
convincing. Much cleaner than NOVA at place grounds. It felt like gamble to go
    with this kind of suggestion.

Then I met Dr Bina Vasan, her take was like, we can try until
you stop producing eggs, yes your age and low AMH is the issue, but we also
test your husband’s (DNA fragmentation Index), first day when I went to her
clinic, she was about to leave to attend a function, so after the history was
taken I was asked to come again next day. She also suggested the use of HGH,
along the change in medications, and frozen transfer. Was pleasant to talk
with. cost breakup was not given, they just mention it orally.

Next was Morpheus, met Dr. Biraj Kalyan, I must say this is the
only palce so far in my experience that is totally transparent about the cost,
they follow a two step process, first history and then discussion with Dr.
Biraj Kalyan, she too was stuck on age factor, and low amh, she said there is magic portion available, and I do knew that. I had lots of hope on this center, being collaboration with Germany, but nothing great came out of the discussion. Donor egg was suggested. Test suggested after probing around 11K. They handed over the cost breakup, which is nice, do they still do have that offer going on.

Then I met Dr Jyothi Menon at Gunasheela, I went on a
weekend, there were 40 ladies ahead of me, so just returned home, went on a
weekday, there were still that many
waiting, they follow 4 step process history,
scan, checkup by a gynac, and then discussion. Dr Jyothi, found her to be very
knowledgeable may be due to her experience, she wrote the whole plan for me in
case I go with them for ivf, and cost break up was not given but felt they
might be knowing what they are doing, they also seemed to have the latest
devices and information on ART on the whole. The worst was wait time, the whole
process took 5 hours. Toilet stinking. But scanning room was okay, they changed
sheets and I did not find any blood stains. Saw a lot of pregnant ladies, big
queues for scans. There were at least close to 100 patients that visited the hospital
that day, the seating capacity itself is about 60. May be there are good.

Today I met Dr. kamini Rao, not much crowd, she so far the
most expensive one, her consultation charge was Rs 1000, registration, history and
discussion, irony was she said, do all the tests that is suggested and I will
speak about your case after that. “It’s not as bad as it looks is all that she
    said, besides suggesting the tests.

Next on my list is CREATION (FORTIS HOSPITAL) and Dr. Madhuri Patil

    Take Care All,

    SN

  116. Cherish in Kormangala is horrible! The hospital looks pretty big and is very clean too. The staff is also good. But Dr. Sreekumar is very money minded with hardly any proper insights into your problem. I had been there twice for IUI and everytime he appeared clueless as to what went wrong with my IUIs. He speaks very less and won't explain properly. To me it appears he has no knowledge. He will share the info. which is also easily available otherwise. He prescribed epilepsy ayurvedic medicines to my husband for improving his DFI. What a shock!!! I will not suggest anyone to Dr Sreekumar. Complete waste of time, efforts and more importantly money (he charges hefty for every single procedure plus medication).

  118. Thank you! I skipped creation and fortis as i choose, Gunasheela, met Jyothi Menon, who i liked at the first meeting, very experienced and she wrote the whole treatment plan for me, very transparent approach, i was offered a package of 95K, they have embryoscope, which is extra medicines cost me around the same, many different things were tried for this cycle, so it was good, currently in my 2WW, fingers crossed.. the only draw back was waiting time, but since i quit my job, i was not stressed about it..

    Hi Prathyshi
    Thanks for your reply
I thought the cost for IUI should be considerably low because it doesn't involves lot of medications. Anyways the infertility treatment itself is very expensive. I am planning for natural cycle this time and subsequently will go for IUI depending on the ovulation. Can you share your email ID with me please. Iam undergoing treatment since last year January with no success yet. Also have not consulted many specialists in Bangalore. Would appreciate if you could help. My email

Due to low sperm count of my husband, at 28 years of age, opted for ICSI at Ramesh Infertility, Rajajinagar and first cycle resulted in twin pregnancy in 2010. However, developed contractions due to damage to membrane and delivered prematurly by 1 1/2 months thru C-section- resulted in death of both children in a week of giving birth. Delivered at Columbia Asia wherein best neo-natal care was available. After gap to 3 years, underwent back-to-back 3 failed IUIs and 1 ICSI at cloudnine. Now, Iam 33 and my eggs quality is deteriorating. Please help, if I can opt for IUI thru donor sperm as I do not wish to incur more debts and risk my health by IVF/ICSI as also I am a working professional.

  142. Hello, reading the stories here brought up memories of our own experience with infertility treatment. I am in the process of blogging our experience here:
    http://infertileinbangalore.blogspot.in/

The blog is incomplete, as it is a process to get through writing it. I am working to finish it up and bring it up to date. The blog covers our experience with 3 Fertility centers in Bangalore and the doctors there. We finally gave up all this and went to traditional herbal treatment to find out that it works! It is a tough decision and as a highly qualified scientific professional, I can tell you that only some sort of desperation and talking to and hearing from actual people who had children through this... people with zero sperm, low sperm count, low egg quality etc. ...finally motivated us to try this. Now I desperately wish we had gone there earlier. It will take time for the blog to get there. So I am sharing details here:

For those interested, see this site developed by another Bangalore based patient who had success there:

They are called as EPMC women's clinic, they are located near bangalore central in Jayanagar 9th block. The doctors there are really kind and friendly although it can be busy at times, they also have private rooms to stay whilst the procedure is carried out. Most importantly they are rather discrete and privacy is maintained.

Go here if your only aim is IVF. For two cycles of IVF it is 90000 + (drug cost is between 35000 to 60000) + freezing and thawing charges extra. semen freezing charges are to be paid. The package covers only till embryo transfer. After that all the charges for further tests have to be paid by the patient.

It is compulsory to do all the tests like FSH , AMH, Semen count , insulin resistance, complete blood count, rubella etc as preliminary tests even if you had done it earlier in other hospitals.

If you insist for IUI they will refuse saying that Dr. Biraj kalyan is too busy to do IUI and all. No idea about success rate but one will not find that professionalism there.

Belle Vue's cambridge Hospital, Indira Nagar, Ulsoor - The cost of treatment is little high but it is a good place for the people who are having problems related to PCOS , cyst and want to have IUI. The full procedure for IUI including medicine and scanning will cost approx 25000. Consultation fees is 300- 400 Rs per cycle and 1 time IUI procedure alone will cost 4000 i.e 4000*2 =8000 for two IUI 's per cycle. The hospital is not so big but the cost that they take from the patients is little high.

  168. I could not go there as my appointment got cancelled. I happened to go to garbhagudi. Did 2iuis but failed. Here its only money making. Also hygiene wise not good. They don't change the disposable sheets when doing TVS and you can literally see tgethe dischage on the sheets. They also lied me saying n number ofsuccess cases although they did not have single one in the electronic city clinic.
One of my friend visited cherish but was not happy with the treatments.

We went to Dr Sreekumar (Cherish) today. It was very strange talking to him. He doesn't sound confident at all. He is hesitant to speak and one has to extract information out of him. Even when it came to recommending the next steps for us, he kind of left it hanging in the air, allowing us to make our own conclusions. We are definitely not going back to him.

Then we went to Gunasheela at Koramangala. I heard the crowd there is less compared to Basavangudi and it was true. We had a consultation with the doctor and I was impressed with their transparency. They maintain records of each ivf (patient age, how many eggs extracted, how many fertilized, did the ivf result in live birth or not, age of patient, dr and embryologist name, etc) and they will produce it if you ask for it. I have visited five other ivf clinics before this (manipal ankur, columbia asia, sure fertility, cherish, and one outside bangalore) and no one gave me this information. They just tell you that success rate is 40% or 50%, but how to believe them? In Gunasheela at least they were able to corraborate their claims.

The doctor also told us that it costs almost 50k less at their Basavangudi clinic than in Koramangala because of the crowds and long wait time. So we decided to go to Gunasheela. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Hope others find this information useful.

Are you continuing to Gunasheela koramangala or basawangudi clinic? I am still skeptical about deciding the clinic for my treatment. One of my friend is working with Dr Kamini Rao in Jayanagar. She's suggesting to visit her as the facility is very good. Promised me treatment in best hand at her clinic. Going to send her my old reports.

  173. subatomicvJuly 09, 2015

We are going with Gunasheela basawangudi. The Koramangala branch charges costs at least 50k more because it offers a premium package which means less wait times, more personal attention etc. But the procedure itself is always done in Basawangudi so there's no difference there. We never went to Kamini rao so I cannot comment about it.

  175. Please be aware of pawan sharma of unique fertility (http://www.uniquefertilitycare.com/). They are one of the biggest cheats that i have ever found. His bangalore business is managed by poornima anand. Please be aware of both. They're into the business of providing doner eggs and surrogate mothers. They will take advance from you with their sweet words and for us 2 times they failed to provide us a quality egg doner. We got fed up with their behavior and we asked for a refund. Pawan doesnt even pick up our call and he did not refund any money that we paid as advance. We have suffered huge financial loss because of him and his fraud company. He loves to play with the emotions of childless couples like us. To escape the situation he simply doesn't pickup the call. Think twice before giving him any advance. Once he takes your money he will become a different person altogether. They say that they do screening of the girls who they propose as doner but in reality they do not do any screening and only after spending 50k on injections and 40k on his advance you will come to know that cycle has failed. This happened twice with us, now he doesn't even pickup our calls. One of the worst experience that we had with him.
Repeatedly we asked for refund of some portion of the advance (Not full) but all has gone in vain. We have lost all hope in him and he has smsed me saying do whatever you feel like nothing can be refunded. We are in financial turmoil because of him.
Posting this complaint for the benefit of all such couples looking for doner eggs or surrogacy.
